Hyphen Hyphen, Yarol Poupaud and Corine performed there: the "Thursday Live Sessions" celebrate their 10th anniversary in Monaco

On the list of winners, we come across the names of Hyphen Hyphen, Yarol Poupaud, Corine or The Liminanas… in ten years, the Thursday Live Sessions have welcomed some great people under the glass roof of the Grimaldi Forum. Offering a concept that was clearly lacking in Monaco at the time: that of an evening with live music during the aperitif. The bet has become an established project and the past decade has allowed the hosting of 70 concerts with emerging artists and established talents on stage.
While the Centre Pompidou's works currently fill the halls of the Grimaldi Forum, the anniversary season of Thursday Live Sessions is already underway for the fall with a first date on September 4th with Pat Kalla & Super Mojo. Their afro-groove mixed with electro will allow us to extend the summer of feverish rhythms.
A tribute to Queen for the 10th anniversaryIn October, to celebrate the anniversary (the first Thursday Live was held in October 2015), the spirit of Freddie Mercury will be summoned with Visions of Queen, a French tribute band paying homage to the iconic British group. Their songs are sure to get everyone excited about the party, regardless of generation. This should be the case on October 23.
Finally, in December – the full program is still being developed – Wolfgang Valbrun will take the stage on the 18th. The Franco-American will offer his soul inspired by the artists who have influenced him: Bob Marley, Billy Joel, Elton John, Bobby McFerrin, Grace Jones and Charles Aznavour.
The formula for the artists will remain unchanged, with a tapas menu and a DJ to liven up the atmosphere and kick-start the after-work party before the concert begins. A recipe that's been working for a decade.
Alongside the Thursday Live Sessions lineup, the Grimaldi Forum is also going eclectic for the last quarter of the year. Le grand écart will feature Hoshi—announced for October 4th—in an unplugged version. Influenced by the legendary Nirvana unplugged recording in New York, the singer will revisit her repertoire in acoustic form. In a completely different style, the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will take over the Salle des Princes from December 12th to 14th. A stage version of Roald Dahl's story, already brought to life on screen by Johnny Depp. The show will be in English with French surtitles.
Before that, a children's world, that of Disney, will also be honored with a concert of the most beautiful film songs, from The Lion King to Pocahontas, during the All Saints' Day holidays, on October 22. A few days later, on November 27, another Disney star – Frozen – will stop off in Monaco. For a musical show this time on ice (obviously!), with "Let It Go" as the highlight.
